The lack of rain this winter has caused water shortages to the residents of Beirut. Residents are resorting to private water networks. Water suppliers are digging deeper wells which are technically illegal to compensate for the short supply.

Artificial Pond in Ehden
The Green Project will be building an artificial pond in Ehden with the aim to harvest rainwater. The pond will be able to accommodate 24,000 cubic meters of water which will be mostly used for irrigation purposes and fighting fires.

Fire in lanfill in Zahle
Fire broke out in the landfill of Zahle causing smoke to rise over the Bekaa valley. The Fire started on Monday in the 4th cell and efforts were taken to fight the fire and to prevent it from spreading to other cells.
